It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything with depth on the blog. It is my intention, with this post, to catch you up on everything going on with William Walker Photography and our personal lives. It has been an exciting and wonderful year!
First off, thank you to all my wonderful clients. It has been a banner year and this has been one of the most fun wedding seasons. Jess and I had the opportunity to shoot at some of the gorgeous new venues, as well as some of our favorites we always love coming back to including Castle Hill Cider where I took a field trip to while still under construction (you may have read my blog post about it).
Jess and I got hitched too! Yep, we had a crazy, magical, sweet, fun, beachy wedding down in the Outer Banks in North Carolina on a Tuesday in June. We were surrounded by all the important people in our lives with our toes in the sand as we exchanged our vows. “But, Will, you’re a wedding photographer in Charlottesville! Why on earth would you get married anywhere else?!” I’m sure a lot of you are thinking.
When we got engaged, we decided we were friends with too many wonderful vendors and venues in Charlottesville to choose. The OBX (as it’s affectionately called) is a very special place for us and we wanted to share the experience with everyone we love, so we packed up the truck and headed for the coast. We had multiple houses rented and we all stayed the week. I’ll tell you all about the wedding in a more in depth blog post.
Also, we’re building a house! Many of you know me as Will the photographer. Well, growing up through my teenage years I worked for Walker Construction building houses. My dad is a contractor and has taught me a lot of skills over the years. So, I’m strapping the tool belt back on and Dad and I are going to build a house. I’ll be documenting the whole process in episodes of a new personal project called “The Walker’s Build A House”.
So, now you’re all caught up! We’ve been really busy. A good busy. An exciting busy. Oh, and I almost forgot. We’re going to Spain in November for a postponed honeymoon! Olé!
